Evening Star Tryouts | 6 - 8 years old

Evening Stars is a Talent Identification Program for young girls and boys in Trampoline and Tumbling (often referred to as T&T). There are three events in which your daughter/son will begin their trampoline and tumbling education—Trampoline, Tumbling, and Double Mini Trampoline (DMT). In this fundamental learning stage, our Tumble Stars will be taught in the areas of flexibility, strength, coordination, focus, balance, agility, body awareness, alignment, and basic body positioning/shaping. CGC’s Trampoline and Tumbling Program is a high-performance program that focuses on producing T&T athletes for the Elite level of T&T (National, International and World class). Due to this directive, CGC seeks out girls and boys that have the right attributes to cope with the physical and mental demands of the sport, as well as the commitment and drive to reach the top levels.

 What We Look For:

First and foremost, the athlete must love gymnastics. If your child is doing cartwheels in the living room, flipping on your furniture, and making her own gym out of every surface in your house, down the aisles of the supermarket and out in the yard, that's indicative of a child who has some innate passion for gymnastics. They are self-teaching by mirroring what they have seen somewhere else and their desire to flip or be upside down is natural. Some children cannot tolerate being upside down, and consequently would struggle in this program. Little ones, who prefer to constantly be cartwheeling, are kids we would consider to be good candidates for the Tumble Stars program! Below is a list of characteristics and attributes that we look for when selecting children for the program. Obviously, we are not looking for them to have every single attribute… that would be golden, but we do look for the children that have as many as possible!
